Borussia Dortmund thrashed fourth-placed Freiburg 5-1 to close the gap on Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich to three points as Haaland & Meunier score braces.
The 21-year-old Norwegian has now scored 78 goals in 77 matches for Dortmund.
Thomas Meunier opened the scoring for the hosts with two headers in the first half.
In the third quarter, Ermedin Demirovic had given the guests hope with a 3-1 lead, but Mahmoud Dahoud’s late goal sealed Dortmund’s victory.
Haaland has scored 55 goals in 56 games in the Bundesliga, which is an outstanding tally.
A win over Koln on Saturday would put Bayern Munich six points clear of second place in the Bundesliga rankings.
