AC Milan came from behind to beat Genoa in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia.

AC Milan came from behind to beat Genoa in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia on Thursday night by a winner from Olivier Giroud.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud headed home from Theo Hernandez’s cross to force extra time after Genoa took the lead through Brighton loanee Leo Skiri Ostigard.

Rafael Leao’s goal in the 102nd minute gave Milan the lead for the first time.

Alexis Saelemaekers scored Milan’s third goal and sent Stefano Pioli’s side through. Hernandez set up the goal.

Milan, Serie A’s second-place team, has won the Coppa Italia five times, the most recent in 2003, and will face either Lazio or Udinese in the quarterfinals in February.
