Injury boost for Manchester United ahead of Spurs clash
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be without midfielder Paul Pogba for the encounter, with the Frenchman now suspended for three matches due to his red card in the Liverpool clash.
Fortunately for the Red Devils’ manager, he may be able to counteract the absence of Pogba with the returns of his compatriots Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial.
United’s defense has been porous in their past two league games, shipping a combined nine goals to Leicester and Liverpool, and the summer signing can only help with that.
Varane was pictured in discussions with Solskjaer and also training in a small-sided game, with his chances of featuring against Tottenham getting better by the day.
Victory over Spurs would go a long way to lifting the move around Old Trafford, but a good performance feels almost vital if Solskjaer wants to convince those around him that he remains the right man for the job.
