Maguire breaks John Terry`s record for England

Harry Maguire has faced a barrage of criticism from Manchester United fans and some analysts in recent weeks, and many would argue that such critiques are quite warranted given his poor form for the club.

He has, however, been in terrific form for England, breaking a record in the process. He became England’s highest-scoring defender in history with his goal against San Marino in the final game of the World Cup Qualifiers.

The United captain has now scored more goals for England than both John Terry and Jack Charlton, who had six goals each. Maguire’s header against Albania saw him score six goals and cement his place in history and the seventh one against San Marino made history.

Manchester United will face Watford in just four days, hoping to put an end to their poor run. Maguire’s return to form will be hoped for by United fans as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to face mounting pressure.
