Man United has five players that could leave in January

The year is nearly ended, and the January transfer window will open, giving clubs the opportunity to boost their rosters and bring in some much-needed talent.

It’s also a chance for clubs to get rid of players who are no longer needed. Manchester United has made extensive use of the January transfer window in recent years. Bruno Fernandes was signed during the winter transfer window, and he significantly transformed their season, as they went on an unbeaten away run towards the end of the season.

Jesse Lingard

Lingard is one of the fringe players that has had an influence from the bench this season. However, as he approaches the prime of his career, the 29-year-old would like to play more games, and leaving Man United may be the only way he can do it consistently

Paul Pogba

Pogba’s contract expires at the end of the season in a few months, and there are no signs that he will extend it. If he is not sold next month, the club may lose him on a free transfer.

Anthony Martial

Since United signed Edinson Cavani, Martial has struggled o break into the starting lineup. His agent has indicated openly that the Frenchman wants to play frequently in the first team, which, given United’s attacking alternatives, appears improbable at the moment.

Dean Henderson

Since the start of the season, De Gea has been at his best, and Dean Henderson has been relegated to the bench. However, for a goalkeeper his age, he has to play often in order to improve, and it appears unlikely that he will ever unseat De Gea from the starting lineup.

Juan Mata

Mata has not been a regular starter in the first team for the previous two seasons, and there are no signs that this will change anytime soon. He already appears to be physically unable to play in the Premier League, therefore moving him on in January appears to be the best option.
