Manchester United steals a point against Chelsea as the match ends a stalemate at the Stamford Bridge.

An entertaining 1-1 tie at Stamford Bridge Stadium between Chelsea and Manchester United kept the Blues atop the English Premier League.

A 4-1 loss to Watford last weekend resulted in the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United manager ahead of this match.

As a result, the match at Chelsea was viewed as a must-win game for United to maintain relevance in the Premier League.

Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford started the encounter, while Cristiano Ronaldo was benched.

Solidifying the United’s defense, which had been conceding at an alarming rate, helped the team against Chelsea.

After a scoreless first half, the game erupted into life on the 50th minute when the visitors netted their first goal.

The goal was achieved as a result of a bad blunder. The defender ended up losing possession of the ball, which allowed Jadon Sancho to pick it up and slide it into the back of the net.

A penalty kick by Jorginho restored Chelsea’s advantage. Chelsea was granted a penalty in the 69th minute and was given a lifeline.

Jorginho went up for the penalty kick and smashed it low into the left corner of the net, giving goalkeeper David de Gea no chance to tie the game at one-all.

Chelsea drops 2 points but just a point above Manchester City and 2 points above Liverpool. Manchester United, on the other hand, sits 8th on the table with 18 points.
