Man Utd cruised into their first win since September as they beat Nuno Espirito’s side 3-0 and picked up 3 vital points to help relieve some of the pressure on Solskjaer. The Manager was allegedly already on the verge of being sacked after the team’s disappointing display last week against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
The first goal came from a perfect half volley by Ronaldo after his Portuguese teammate put in a great pass. Edison Cavani, who played alongside the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, scored and doubled his team’s advantage in the second half as he calmly floated the ball past Hugo Lloris. Marcus Rashford came in into the second half to make it 3-0 with a cool finish in the closing stages of the game.
It is Solskjaer’s first league win since beating West Ham on September 19. The victory against Spurs came after he changed up United’s formation, with the Norwegian opting for a 3-5-2 system.
The Red Devils moved level on points (17) with West Ham to fifth place ahead of their clash next Saturday against cross-town rivals Manchester City.
