Monaco have fired Niko Kovac, the Former Manager of Bayern Munich and Croatia’s National Team on Saturday.
At the age of 50, Kovac took over for Robert Moreno, who had been fired after only seven months on the job.
According to Monaco, Kovac was notified of the decision on Thursday and the announcement was made official on Saturday.
In Sunday’s French Cup last-32 matchup against Ligue 2 team Quevilly-Rouen, reserve team coach Stephane Nado will be in charge.
With Bayern Munich winning the Bundesliga and Cup in the 2018-19 season, Kovac has helmed Monaco 74 times and has them languishing in sixth place, 17 points behind Paris St.Germain.
Philippe Clement of Club Bruges is reportedly the front-runner to succeed Kovac.
