Rangnick should sign these three players for Man United in January.
Club – Leeds United
Despite playing for a mid-table Leeds United squad, the holding midfielder was one of England’s important performers at Euro 2020. He has excellent ball control and can also drive forward with his late runs at the edge of the box. United are currently lacking in one facet of his game: defensive structure. Philips plays similarly to Nemanja Matic, the club’s only natural holding midfielder, but the Englishman is more tenacious and quicker.
Club – RB Leipzig
Diawara is a young holding midfielder who can play in any of the deep midfield spots. His style of play is tailored for Ralf Rangnick’s high pressing system and his tactical understanding of the game sets him apart from the other players on this list. He has the ability to play further up the pitch and his stamina allows him to track back and perform his primary defensive responsibilities.
Club – AC Milan
Kessie is a similar type of play to Scott Mctominay and Fred, but with more focus on the ability to pass the ball better. Because of his quickness and enthusiasm, he is a type box-to-box midfielder who would fit wonderfully into Rangnick’s system. While he isn’t your average defensive midfielder, he adds a lot to the squad he plays for when coupled with a more defensively good player partner.
