Atletico Madrid will approach Manchester United with an official proposal toward the end of December in a bid to swap one of their players in exchange for Anthony Martial during the January transfer window, reported Eurosport.
Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley recently said that the Frenchman who was signed by Louis van Gaal back in 2015, is keen to leave Old Trafford come January, having become frustrated with his lack of game time this season.
However, Man United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has insisted that the forward has not told the club that he wants to seek pastures at the start of next year.
Martial was the first player to sign a new contract under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but the Norwegian’s loyalty to the forward withered this season following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
Manchester United have drawn the Spanish giants in the UEFA Champions League last 16 and although Simeone’s squad is already stacked with attacking options, Atletico need to turn some of their draws into wins.
Martial’s contract at Manchester United won’t expire until 2024.
