Our editorial team take a look at some of the top players in the competition and how well they performed for their clubs.

Riyad Mahrez

Manchester City has dominated the competition in recent seasons, owing to their amazing squad depth. However, they were eliminated this season by West Ham, leaving the trophy up for grabs to another team. However, Mahrez’s performance was outstanding, as he was undoubtedly one of City’s best players.

Reece James

This season, James has established himself as one of the most offensively gifted fullbacks in the world, and his performances in the Carabao Cup have been almost as good as those in the League and Champions League. He is one of the players who helped Chelsea reach the semi-finals.

Eddie Nketiah

With five goals already this season, the youthful striker is one of the leading scorers in the Carabao Cup. His hat trick against Sunderland advanced his club to the semi-finals, where they have a good chance of reaching the final and winning the cup.
