Ancelotti admits that he Prefers Rodrygo to Eden Hazard

Carlo Ancelotti has bluntly admitted that he prefers Rodrygo to Hazard at the moment, but he’s readily determined to get the best out of the Belgian forward.

Since his €100m move to Santiago Bernabeu, his career has gone downhill, he is either having a bad game or battling one injury or the other. The bottom line is, he’s failed to reciprocate that Chelsea spark we all used to know. But his club coach believes that there is still hope and it is still very possible to get the old Hazard back.

When asked about where he fits in, Ancelotti said in his press conference: “He can play in a 4-3-3 on the left or a 4-4-2 up top or behind the striker. He is ready to play, but the problem is a coach that prefers another player.”

The Italian coach was also asked why Eden Hazard hasn’t attained that superstar status he was meant to reach given his huge transfer fee, “He doesn’t have this status because he has had a lot of injuries and little by little he will get better,” the Real Madrid boss replied.

“I am sure that this season we are going to see a better version and he will play more than what he is doing now.

“Hazard has it all, quality, motivation…he has to put up with it, that what happens at times, is that the coach prefers other players.”

The Belgian recently suffered a recent injury setback, but he was an unused sub in the last El Clasico game, but he should be back in contention for this evening’s clash with Osasuna and this weekend’s date with Elche.
