Premier League recap; The good, the bad, and the ugly

Arsenal Beats Leicester as Ramsdale shines

Arsenal continued their fine form as they reaped the benefits of their quick attacking start to the game with Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the form of his life.

Gabriel put the Gunners in front after Bukayo Saka makes his 100th appearance in an Arsenal jersey put in a superb cross from the corner and he headed it home nicely breaking his deadlock since march. Emile Smith-Rowe doubled the lead in 18 minutes, continuing his fine form with the latest England squad announcement looming, with Alexandre Lacazette battling for the ball in the box, it was cleared into the path of the academy graduate, who made no mistake with a clinical finish.

The North London club had Ramsdale to thank for going into half-time without conceding after the English Goalkeeper made a stunning save to tip James Madison freekick onto the bar. It was a standout performance for the Goalkeeper, who made a number of important saves to keep Leicester city away from scoring.

“I have just seen the pictures, it was incredible,” Arteta told BT Sport.

“He saved them both. Those moments, the individual actions they are needed.”

The Arsenal manager who was happy with his team performances and how far they’ve come said; “I was really happy, against a top team. It is really hard to come here and win. The way we did it – we had to come here and suffer and we managed the game really well in the second half.

We created a lot of issues for them. We carried on playing after 1-0 and scored the second. We knew they would change and get at us. There were moments we didn’t manage situations well enough but in the last 20 minutes we modified things and got control back in the game.

We need to carry on. We haven’t done anything – we won a couple of matches and we want to improve. There are a lot of positives but there are a lot of things to improve.”
