Di Maria`s late strike gives PSG the Win in Friday Night Clash

Kylian Mbappe was absent in the game due to injury and Lionel Messi was subbed off at halftime, Angel Di maria stepped up as Neymar set him up with a lovely pass as he scored the 88th-minute winner for PSG to complete the comeback against Lile.
Jonathan David scored a first-half goal and gave Lile the lead. PSG needed someone to step up as two of their superstars were missing in the game.

Marquinhos scored the equalizer in the 74th minute, as Di Maria grabbed the winner. The Argentine forward had set up the equalizer and he then arrived to fire low into the net from Neymar’s lay-off and secure a win that allows PSG to extend their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to a massive 10 points over second-placed Lens before the rest of the weekend’s games.

Even with the win, it was a disappointing display from Mauricio Pochettino’s side and the coach will be left with so many puzzles to solve. This will be the third time in four home games that PSG have come from behind to secure a win with a comeback, and here it came against a Lille side who are in mid-table after a poor start to their title defense. The absence of their top scorer couldn’t help nor did that of their midfielder Marco Veratti.

“It is not by chance that the team responded the way they did. It shows the mentality and the character that they have, Pochettino insisted. We want to win in the best possible manner, and by the biggest margin. The truth is that it’s often a struggle but it’s not by chance that we have won 10 league games out of 12.”

Messi continues his League goal drought, extending it to 5 games without finding the back of the net and was subbed off at halftime
