Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suffers further humiliation as Watford hands Manchester United a resounding defeat

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suffers further humiliation as Watford handed Manchester United a resounding defeat.

Watford handed Manchester United a resounding 4-1 defeat as Maguire gets sent off in the 69th minute after a second yellow card.

Manchester United hopped off to a disappointing start after the international break as they lost 4 – 1 away to Watford.

If David De Gea hadn’t saved Ismaila Sarr’s twice-taken penalty, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could have fallen behind inside the first 10 minutes, but goals from Joshua King and Sarr ensured a dominant Watford went in 2-0 up at the break.

Substitute Donny van de Beek restored United’s lead early in the second half, heading home from close range from a Cristiano Ronaldo header, and both teams had chances to score again in a game that was open at both ends.

United’s woes worsened midway through the second period when Harry Maguire was sent off for a second yellow card, and Joao Pedro’s stoppage-time goal won victory for the hosts. At the same time, Emmanuel Dennis added salt to the wound.

It’s yet another blow for United’s season and will undoubtedly result in more questions about the future of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.
