Ronaldo’s late goal helps United overcome a two-goal deficit against Atalanta at Old Trafford

Cristiano Ronaldo pulled off a dying minute stellar performance in the Champions League match against Atalanta at Old Trafford to clinch a match-winner from a 2 – 0 deficit.

Manchester United won the UEFA Champions League with a 3-2 victory over Atalanta.

The Portuguese international scored the match-winning goal in the 81st minute as the Red Devils rallied from a two-goal deficit.

Mario Pasalic and Merih Demiral scored in the first half to put Gli Orobici up by two at the interval, putting the Red Devils on the verge of another loss and reactionary calls from fans to end the manager’s job.

The team, though, came back magnificently in the second half.

Marcus Rashford cut the lead in half in the 53rd minute before Harry Maguire tied the score a few minutes later.

The game was still destined for a draw, but when the hour comes, Ronaldo comes. He rose to the highest spot on the pitch to receive a wonderful cross from Luke Shaw and guide a spectacular header into the bottom left corner.

Manchester United battled back from a loss to take the lead in Group F, relegating the Italians to second place.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who has been put on his toes by some fans who criticize his management skills, has once again proven that he is competent and the fans should “trust the process.”

Atalanta will host the Red-Devils in the second leg of the champions league group F tie on the 2nd of November, 2021, at 9.00 pm W. Central Africa Standard Time.
