Sergio Ramos sent off in PSG draw against lowly Lorient

Mauro Icardi’s stoppage-time strike helped 10-man Paris St. Germain salvage a fortunate 1-1 draw at lowly Lorient in a dismal performance by the Ligue 1 leaders on Wednesday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were on course for another mostly uninspiring performance when Monconduit opened the scoring with a slightly-deflected strike that went into the top corner five minutes from the interval. Pochettino brought on former Ramos for the second-half, with the Real Madrid defender receiving yellow cards in the 81st and 86th minutes to see red in just his second league match for PSG.

The visitors then poured forward in search of an equaliser and it duly arrived when right back Achraf Hakimi clipped over a cross from the right and Icardi expertly headed home in the first minute of added time.Sergio Ramos sent off in PSG draw against lowly Lorient

Kylian Mbappe and playmaker Marco Verratti, both missing due to suspension and Neymar still out injured, produced another worryingly sub-standard performance that will put the focus on the ex-Tottenham boss. The Argentine, approaching the first anniversary of his appointment, has struggled to get the very best out of PSG’s array of superstar players, although they sit a huge 13 points clear of their nearest challengers Nice and Marseille at the French season’s halfway stage.
